Director of Finance

About the role

Hyde Melbourne Place, a five-star lifestyle hotel in Melbourne's CBD owned by Ennismore (a joint venture with Accor), is looking for an experienced Director of Finance to lead the hotel's finances and support its business growth. Working closely with the General Manager, Ownership and the Leadership Team, the role oversees budgets, forecasts, reporting and financial controls.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the finance function across all hotel operations, including Rooms, Food & Beverage and Events
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support business decisions
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and monthly financial reporting
• Ensure compliance with legislative requirements, company policies and internal controls
• Lead, coach and develop the finance team
• Partner with department leaders to manage costs, maximise revenue and improve profitability
• Build relationships with auditors, owners and corporate stakeholders
• Monitor financial performance and identify ways to improve results and operational efficiency

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Director of Finance or in a senior finance role within a hotel
• Experience leading and developing teams
• Experience working with operational teams to improve business performance
• Able to build positive relationships with people at all levels of the business

Required skills

• Strong understanding of budgets, forecasting and financial reporting
• Good knowledge of financial controls, compliance and reporting requirements
• Proficiency in hotel finance systems and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent communication, organisational, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
