Director of Business Development – Mining (Australia)

About the role

Stratum AI is seeking a senior business development leader to open doors with mining executives across Australia. You will leverage your network to create high‑value opportunities and position Stratum’s AI‑driven mining software with key decision‑makers.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue high‑value mining clients, focusing on executive‑level introductions.
• Use your established mining network to generate opportunities and establish Stratum AI’s credibility with budget‑holding executives.
• Represent Stratum AI at industry events, conferences and networking functions to raise visibility.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to design regional sales strategies and navigate procurement obstacles.
• Coordinate with technical teams to align messaging, handle initial contract negotiations and hand off qualified opportunities.
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline, provide accurate forecasts and report on market development activities.

Required profile

• Extensive network and proven track record opening doors with senior mining executives.
• Experience selling complex solutions in the natural resources sector.
• Background in mining operations, resource management or related fields; Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred.
• Strong commercial acumen, strategic negotiation skills and ability to work independently.
• Willingness to travel extensively and operate with high cultural intelligence.
