Director, Australia – Beauty Brand

About the role

The Director, Australia will lead MERIT Beauty’s expansion in the Australian market, shaping the brand’s identity and driving commercial performance across both direct‑to‑consumer (DTC) and retail partner channels. Reporting to the International leadership team, you will work closely with global and local teams to translate brand strategy into measurable sales results.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the local brand and marketing strategy, adapting global campaigns for Australian audiences.
• Own product launches, activations, influencer, content, social and retail media initiatives.
• Recruit, manage and develop the PR Manager and oversee earned media, brand partnerships and events.
• Hold full P&L responsibility for Australia, setting revenue, margin and sell‑through targets.
• Develop and implement the sales strategy for retailer accounts, including trade negotiations and retail marketing.
• Collaborate with global teams on demand‑supply planning, budgeting and brand consistency.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in beauty, cosmetics or fast‑moving consumer goods.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of P&L ownership and sales growth.
• Demonstrated ability to build and elevate a brand in a new market.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable wearing multiple hats in a lean organisation.
• Excellent stakeholder management with retailers, agencies and internal teams.
