Dental Assistant - Chairside Support

About the role

A family-friendly general dentistry practice in Newstead, Queensland, is looking for an experienced Dental Assistant. The role focuses mainly on chairside assisting, with occasional reception support when needed. The current Dental Assistant is returning to the UK, so the vacancy is open. The practice has an all-female dentist team and encourages training.

Key responsibilities

• Provide chairside assistance to dentists during procedures
• Maintain sterilisation and infection control protocols
• Assist with patient preparation and support during treatments
• Provide reception support when required (scheduling, patient interaction)
• Maintain a clean and organised clinical environment

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience in chairside dental assisting
• Strong understanding of sterilisation and infection control
• Comfortable supporting multiple dentists
• Ability to help with reception duties if required
• Friendly, energetic and proactive, able to build rapport with patients
• Team player willing to support across all areas of the practice

Required skills

• Certificate III Dental Assisting qualification
• Strong communication and patient care skills
