Demi Chef – Kitchen Team

About the role

The Dining Room at Park Hyatt Sydney is seeking a passionate Demi Chef to join its kitchen team. You will support breakfast, lunch and dinner services, ensuring high‑quality dishes and a seamless operation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and service breakfast, lunch and/or dinner for the assigned section.
• Assist the Chef de Partie with set‑up and maintain consistent dish quality.
• Assign tasks, supervise performance, and provide coaching and training as needed.
• Check incoming food items, store them according to hygiene regulations, and maintain appropriate mise‑en‑place levels.
• Ensure all food safety and hygiene practices are strictly followed.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience as a Commis Chef in a hotel or high‑standard restaurant.
• Completion of a Chef Apprenticeship or a Certificate in Commercial Cookery.
• Strong knowledge of hygiene standards and food safety.
• Effective trainer with experience delivering skill‑based training.
• Accurate knife skills and familiarity with a variety of cooking methods.
