Defence Personal Injury Lawyer (General Liability)

About the role

Makinson d'Apice Lawyers, a firm based in Sydney and Brisbane, is looking for an experienced defence personal injury lawyer with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience. The lawyer will act for major NSW Government agencies on general liability and personal injury defence work, with a possible smaller component of institutional abuse claims and some privacy, employment and discrimination matters.

Key responsibilities

• Act for major NSW Government agencies on general liability and personal injury defence matters
• Handle large, complex matters for government clients
• Possibly take on institutional abuse claims and some privacy, employment and discrimination work
• Work with a manageable file load under the guidance of supervising partners

Required profile

• At least 3 years of post-qualification experience
• Background in civil litigation
• Strong client management skills
• Interest in acting for government and insurer clients
• Enjoys a predominantly general liability/personal injury defence practice with autonomy
