Customer Field Technician - Katoomba

About the role

nbn is recruiting Customer Field Technicians for its internal workforce, based in the Katoomba / Blue Mountains area. The role connects and supports customers in their homes or businesses across a range of nbn technologies, such as installing new services, maintaining network infrastructure, troubleshooting faults and keeping customers informed. It is a hands-on, field-based position with varied locations each day, working both indoors and outdoors, including at heights and in confined spaces. Working hours are between 7am and 7pm, with flexibility depending on business needs.

Required profile

• Previous experience in telecommunications is not needed; previous trades or hands-on technical jobs (plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, labouring, construction, mechanical work, manufacturing) are highly valued.
• Enjoys hands-on problem-solving and feels comfortable speaking with customers.
• Comfortable working independently and managing their own workload.
• A strong commitment to safety and clear communication skills.
• A current, clean driver's licence.
• Full working rights in Australia.
