Customer Field Technician I - Sydney Metro

About the role

nbn is hiring a Customer Field Technician for its Sydney metro area. This is a customer-facing, autonomous role responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of nbn products and services, mostly on customers' premises. It is a permanent, full-time position open to experienced candidates and to those with transferable skills from a communication cabling or electrical background.

Key responsibilities

• Cabling installation (copper, fibre, HFC) including jointing, jumpering and splicing
• Installation of nbn Customer Premises Equipment (CPE)
• Fault diagnosis and repair of nbn cabling networks and nbn CPE
• Delivering exceptional customer service in a role that works between 7am and 7pm depending on business needs

Required profile

• Experience in communication cabling or electrical work, or transferable skills from such a background
• Exceptional customer service skills, honesty and integrity, and the ability to be self-managed and motivated
• Current and clean driver's licence
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Full working rights in Australia
