Customer Banking Specialist – South Melbourne Branch

About the role

The Customer Banking Specialist role is the public face of CommBank in South Melbourne, delivering seamless banking experiences to personal and small‑business customers. You will engage directly with clients, helping them navigate a range of financial products and services throughout key life moments.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in‑depth conversations to understand and support customers' banking needs, including home loans, business banking and financial advice.
• Assist with enquiries, maintain accounts and process applications for credit products.
• Complete Financial Health Checks to assess financial needs and identify changes.
• Educate customers on in‑branch technology and digital banking options, demonstrating features and benefits.
• Problem‑solve and provide effective solutions while adhering to risk‑averse processes and procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering exceptional customer service, preferably in financial services, retail or hospitality.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial terms clearly.
• Strong questioning, problem‑solving and integrity‑focused mindset.
• Ability to thrive in a busy, commercial retail environment and view the big picture for customers.
• Genuine interest in building a career with CommBank and improving customers' financial wellbeing.
