Crew Member – Sales and Food Preparation

About the role

Guzman Y Gomez (GYG) is looking for a customer-focused person who loves Mexican food and is passionate about food and customer service. The role reports to the Restaurant Manager and covers both sales and food preparation (cook). The restaurant is franchised by OTR Group.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pleasant and prompt service to customers
• Prepare menu items according to the procedures and processes outlined by GYG
• Maintain complete knowledge of the menu, ingredients and procedures so that high-quality Mexican products are delivered proactively and promptly

Required profile

• Advanced English skills (if non-native)
• Valid RSA certificate
• Ability to multitask in a very fast-paced environment
• Outgoing, approachable, patient and eager to help customers
• Previous customer service or food preparation experience is regarded but not essential; attitude is key

Required skills

• Basic computer skills and ability to learn Point of Sale and EFTPOS machine operation
• General understanding of Australian currency, payment methods and loyalty cards
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to keep a clean, tidy and organised workstation
