Cook – Fast Casual Mexican Restaurant

About the role

Guzman Y Gomez is looking for a cook for its fast casual Mexican restaurant. The role reports to the Restaurant Manager and works alongside sales and line crew members. It suits someone who loves Mexican food and the Latin culture, and who is passionate about food and customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pleasant and prompt service to customers
• Prepare menu items according to the procedures and processes set out by the restaurant
• Maintain full knowledge of the menu, ingredients and procedures so that high-quality Mexican products are delivered quickly

Required profile

• Advanced English (if non-native) and an RSA certificate
• Ability to multitask in a very fast-paced environment
• Outgoing, approachable, patient and eager to help customers
• Ability to keep a clean, tidy and organised workstation
• Proactive, enthusiastic, self-motivated and good team player
• Previous customer service or food preparation experience is regarded but not essential; attitude is key

Required skills

• Basic computer skills and ability to learn point-of-sale and EFTPOS machine operation
• General understanding of Australian currency, payment methods and loyalty cards
• Good communication skills
