Cost Accountant

About the role

Anduril Australia is expanding its manufacturing operations in Sydney and seeks a Cost Accountant to support the growing product portfolio. Reporting to the Cost Accounting Manager, you will own end‑to‑end cost accounting processes, ensuring accurate manufacturing data and compliance while contributing to IPO readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Execute standard costing updates, cost roll‑ups, and Bill of Materials reviews to maintain accurate inventory valuation.
• Track the manufacturing lifecycle, managing accounting flows between raw materials, WIP, finished goods and COGS.
• Manage month‑end close for work orders, perform reconciliations and resolve transaction exceptions on the factory floor.
• Analyze manufacturing variance data to identify price, usage, efficiency and volume deviations.
• Coordinate physical and cycle counts with plant operations and prepare schedules for external audit reviews.
• Support global supply‑chain flows, executing cost back‑flushing and handling international accounting transactions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CA or CPA qualification completed or in progress.
• 3–4 years of experience in a Big‑4 or mid‑tier external audit role, with exposure to inventory, manufacturing or supply‑chain clients.
• Strong knowledge of AASB 102 / IAS 2 (Inventories) and internal control environments.
• Australian citizenship and ability to obtain an NV1 security clearance; flexibility for occasional U.S. meeting times.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with tier‑1 ERP systems, preferably Oracle Fusion.
• Understanding of standard costing methodologies and manufacturing workflows.
