Corporate Counsel

About the role

As a Corporate Counsel at TAL you will provide practical, commercially focused legal advice across a broad mix of regulatory, product and commercial matters. You will work closely with stakeholders across the business to shape decisions, navigate regulatory change and support initiatives that impact millions of Australians.

Key responsibilities

• Provide practical legal advice across commercial, regulatory and product matters.
• Partner with stakeholders on the development and distribution of life insurance products.
• Draft and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements.
• Advise on regulatory change, customer communications, marketing and consumer protection matters.
• Support corporate legal matters including contracts and intellectual property.

Required profile

• Australian practising qualification with 3‑5 years post‑qualification experience.
• Experience providing legal advice within financial services, insurance, superannuation or another highly regulated environment.
• Strong commercial contracting, negotiation and drafting capability.
• Confidence partnering with stakeholders and translating complex legal issues into clear, practical advice.
