Contracts and Risks Manager

About the role

ABB is looking for an experienced mid-level Contract and Risk Manager to join its Electrification Distribution Solutions (ELDS) team in Australia. The role supports complex deals and transactions within ELDS and other Electrification divisions, and reports to the Senior Legal Counsel Australia and NZ. It is a hybrid position based in either Moorebank, NSW or Notting Hill, VIC.

Key responsibilities

• Review, draft and negotiate contracts, tenders and RFQs for ELDS deals and other Electrification divisions, working under the supervision of the Senior Legal Counsel.
• Identify and mitigate contractual risks and ensure compliance with Legal & Integrity and ABB policy requirements.
• Manage the full contract lifecycle from initiation to closure, including amendments, renewals and terminations, keeping records and attachments accurate.
• Work with the Front End Sales Team and internal sales, marketing, account, finance and tendering teams to align and execute contracts.
• Identify and implement process improvements in contract management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Law, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in contract negotiations and management, preferably in engineering or technology.
• Strong commercial acumen and understanding of contract law and commercial terms.
• Professional certification in contract management (e.g. CPCM, CFCM) is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in contract red-lining, Microsoft Office Suite and Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple contracts and priorities at once.
• Detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
