Consultant Neurologist – Northern Territory

About the role

We are seeking a Consultant Neurologist to join the Royal Darwin Hospital, the Northern Territory’s principal tertiary referral and teaching hospital. The role offers the chance to deliver high‑quality neurology care across a diverse patient population, including complex tropical and remote‑medicine cases.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist inpatient and outpatient neurology services.
• Manage a broad spectrum of acute and chronic neurological disorders.
• Participate in multidisciplinary patient care across medical specialties.
• Support regional and remote outreach services, including care for Indigenous communities.
• Supervise and mentor physician trainees, junior doctors and medical students.
• Contribute to service development, quality improvement and clinical governance.
• Engage in teaching, education and research activities.

Required profile

• Qualified neurologist with experience in a tertiary referral hospital.
• Ability to manage common and complex neurological conditions, including tropical and infectious presentations.
• Willingness to work in remote and Indigenous health settings.
• Commitment to multidisciplinary collaboration, mentorship and clinical research.
