Construction Works Supervisor

About the role

The Construction Works Supervisor will act as Council’s on‑site representative for the Cowarra Water Supply Scheme, a major water infrastructure project. Working closely with contractors, consultants and project managers, you will ensure that all construction activities are delivered safely, on schedule and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections and surveillance to verify compliance with approved designs, specifications and quality requirements.
• Monitor contractor progress, workmanship and safety, and support assessment of progress claims and payment certification.
• Oversee civil, concrete, mechanical, electrical and pipeline construction activities across the project.
• Assist with works verification, site set‑out reviews and capture of as‑constructed information.
• Ensure workplace health, safety and environmental standards are met; respond to incidents, non‑conformances and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors and stakeholders to resolve construction, design and quality issues.
• Maintain accurate site records, inspection reports and project registers to support governance.

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Civil Construction or equivalent qualification with significant practical experience.
• Extensive experience supervising major civil construction works, including pipeline installations, large concrete water retaining structures and utility facilities fit‑out.
• Proven ability to manage contractors, conduct quality assurance inspections and verify works against designs and standards.
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety legislation and practices.
