Construction Supervisor

About the role

The Greater Dandenong City Council is seeking a highly organised Construction Supervisor to oversee capital improvement projects and maintenance works across its jurisdiction. This permanent, full‑time position involves on‑site supervision, ensuring that all works meet contract specifications, safety standards and budgetary constraints.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor contractor activities and verify compliance with contract requirements.
• Ensure adherence to occupational health & safety (OH&S) and risk management procedures.
• Track project budgets, funding allocations and financial performance.
• Maintain quality standards, timelines and resource planning.
• Identify and resolve issues, providing regular progress reports to internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification (degree or diploma) in Works Supervision, Engineering or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience in construction supervision, OH&S and risk management.
• Strong knowledge of road works legislation, including the Road Management Act.
• Proven ability to manage contracts, budgets and financial reporting.
• Professional, ethical approach with a positive “can‑do” attitude.
