Construction Manager

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to provide technical leadership and support to our site supervisors. This hands‑on role ensures projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with the National Construction Code, Australian Standards, and our quality expectations.
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical support and guidance to site supervisors throughout the construction process.
- Ensure all works comply with the NCC, Australian Standards, approved plans, specifications, and relevant legislation.
- Assist supervisors with construction sequencing, detailing, plan interpretation and on‑site issue resolution.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor workmanship, quality, compliance and safety.
- Identify construction defects and non‑compliant work, ensuring timely corrective actions.
- Promote a strong safety culture by enforcing WHS legislation, SWMS, JSA, PPE and safe work practices.
- Mentor and develop supervisors to improve site performance and communication.
- Investigate incidents, determine root causes and implement preventative measures.
- Deliver toolbox talks and contribute to ongoing safety training.
Required profile
- Extensive residential construction knowledge with a thorough understanding of construction methods and best practice.
- Strong working knowledge of the NCC, Australian Standards and residential building regulations.
- Experience managing or supporting multiple residential construction sites.
- Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making and communication skills.
- Proactive, organised and solutions‑focused approach with a genuine commitment to safety and quality.
- Current White Card, valid driver’s licence and relevant trade or builder’s licence.
Required skills
- Strong working knowledge of the National Construction Code (NCC) and Australian Standards.
- Experience with construction sequencing, plan interpretation and on‑site issue resolution.
- Ability to conduct site inspections, identify defects and enforce compliance.
- Familiarity with WHS legislation, SWMS, JSA and PPE requirements.
