Configuration Management Officer

About the role

Babcock is looking for a Configuration Management Officer to support the delivery of configuration and data management activities across the JP9101 program. You will help keep product and service information accurate, controlled and traceable throughout the engineering lifecycle, working under the guidance of experienced Configuration Management professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain configuration management systems and support data remediation
• Manage change items and ensure documents, parts and other configuration items are correctly recorded and structured in line with program plans, procedures and contractual requirements
• Support technical and engineering governance, including coordinating review boards, preparing agendas and minutes, tracking approvals and signatures, and generating configuration status reports
• Contribute to functional and physical configuration audits, technical documentation, risk assessments and process improvement
• Work with project teams and stakeholders to resolve issues and improve data integrity

Required profile

• Methodical, detail-oriented approach with an understanding of engineering lifecycles and technical documentation
• Previous experience as a Configuration Officer or in engineering support roles
• Technical qualification (certificate or associated degree) in a related discipline
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance
• Current motor vehicle driver's licence
• Strong organisational and communication skills

Required skills

• Understanding of applicable engineering toolsets, such as PLM or MRP systems, design, simulation and analysis software
• Experience in configuration management, data management, engineering administration or document control
