Conference and Event Operations Manager

About the role

Join Pullman & Mercure King George Square as a Conference and Event Operations Manager, leading the delivery of large‑scale conferences, meetings, and events in a vibrant 438‑room hotel in the heart of Brisbane CBD.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a dedicated operations team, fostering a high‑performing culture.
• Oversee the operational delivery of conferences, meetings, gala dinners and other events, ensuring seamless execution.
• Collaborate with sales, executive chef and AV providers to meet all event requirements.
• Manage event setup, service delivery and operational logistics across the hotel’s conference spaces.
• Identify and implement improvements to processes, service standards and overall guest experience.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Conference and Events Operations Manager or similar leadership role.
• Strong leadership and people management skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organisational abilities and excellent communication.
• Flexibility to work a variable roster including early starts, late nights, weekends and public holidays.

Required skills

• Experience managing events within a large, high‑volume operation.
• Ability to build strong relationships across departments.
