Community Visitor Social Volunteer

About the role

HammondCare is an independent Christian charity providing the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme, which promotes links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community. As a Volunteer Social Visitor for HammondCare at Home in Lithgow, you will provide companionship and meaningful social interaction for an older person living in the Central West area, including Bathurst, Lithgow, Oberon, Cowra and Blayney. You will share something you enjoy, such as sport, art, pets, gardening, walking, yoga, baking, crafts, movies, music, coffee or crosswords.

Key responsibilities

• Visit an older person in your local community regularly to provide companionship and social interaction.
• Share your own interests with the person you visit.
• Visits are scheduled around a suitable time during the week, between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Sunday, and can be weekly or fortnightly depending on your availability.

Required profile

• Aged 18 years or older.
• National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare.
