Community Liaison Officer

About the role

Genesis is seeking a Community Liaison Officer to strengthen relationships between the company, Traditional Owners and the Laverton community. This role will act as the voice between industry and local stakeholders, helping to create lasting opportunities and cultural initiatives in Western Australia’s gold‑mining region.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain trusted relationships with Traditional Owner groups, local communities and government agencies.
• Coordinate community meetings, consultation activities and outreach programmes.
• Identify and support local employment, training and development opportunities.
• Provide cultural support and mentoring across the workforce.
• Organise cultural awareness training and the annual On‑Country Cultural Day.
• Represent Genesis at community events, forums and public meetings.
• Assist with heritage, environmental and Native Title engagement activities.

Required profile

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Genuine passion for community engagement and cultural preservation.
• Strong understanding of, or connections to, the Nyalpa Pirniku people and the Laverton region.
• Valid manual driver’s licence.
• Formal qualifications in Community Services or a related field are advantageous but not essential.
