Community Engagement Manager

About the role

Ethnolink is Australia’s largest multicultural communications and engagement agency. The Community Engagement Manager leads the agency’s community engagement function, building trusted, long‑term relationships with multicultural communities, leaders and organisations across Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of community engagement strategies to grow and strengthen Ethnolink’s national network.
• Manage and optimise the community database, panel, ambassador programme and advisory groups.
• Lead a team of Community Engagement Coordinators, providing direction, coaching and oversight of recruitment, logistics and database administration.
• Plan, coordinate and host proactive community events and represent Ethnolink at external community forums.
• Support client projects by advising on best‑practice multicultural engagement and providing community insights.

Required profile

• Minimum 4+ years experience in community engagement, stakeholder relations or community development.
• Demonstrated ability to build genuine, long‑term relationships with diverse multicultural, multilingual and First Nations communities.
• Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience.
• Willingness to travel across Melbourne, Victoria and occasionally Australia, and to attend events outside standard business hours.

Required skills

• Experience managing a community database or CRM system with strong data quality and compliance focus.
• Proven track record of planning and delivering community events of varying scale.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including chairing meetings and producing clear notes.
