Communications Coordinator

About the role

The Communications Coordinator will develop and pitch compelling media stories, manage media and PR activities, and create engaging content for Joondalup Health Campus' social media and other communication channels. Working under the Communications Manager, you will support reactive media, issues management, internal communications, digital content and major events.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, develop and pitch media stories that align with hospital priorities.
• Coordinate media and PR activities, securing approvals and managing relationships with journalists.
• Create and manage social media content and engagement across platforms.
• Support internal communications, digital content production, and major event promotion.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the campus and national communications team to ensure proactive, coordinated communications.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in media relations, preferably within healthcare.
• Proven ability to craft and deliver compelling media stories.
• Strong writing, editing and content creation abilities.
• Excellent organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
