Communications Coordinator

About the role

The Murdoch Children’s Research Institute is seeking a creative Communications Coordinator to support integrated communications activities that raise the institute’s profile and engage key audiences. You will work closely with researchers, internal stakeholders, and external partners to produce compelling content across a range of channels.

Key responsibilities

• Create and deliver engaging content for web, social media, e‑newsletters and reports.
• Draft and adapt media releases and other communications materials.
• Support communications campaigns and stakeholder‑engagement initiatives.
• Collaborate with researchers to translate complex scientific information into accessible content.
• Assist with media enquiries, events and internal communications activities.
• Contribute to brand, marketing and communications strategies.

Required profile

• Qualification in communications, media, marketing, journalism or a related field.
• At least 3 + years of experience in communications, media or related roles.
• Strong writing and editing skills across multiple content types.
• Experience working with technical or research‑based content.
• Proactive, collaborative and adaptable approach.
