Construction Director – Adelaide (Expression of Interest)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Construction Director to join our Adelaide team. This Expression of Interest allows qualified professionals to be considered for upcoming large‑scale projects with Laing O’Rourke, a tier‑1 constructor and global engineering firm. The role offers the chance to relocate to South Australia and work on complex, career‑defining infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Project Leader in managing client expectations, establishing project briefs and cost plans.
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure delivery within budget and schedule.
• Develop and implement a design procurement strategy that aligns with project drivers.
• Oversee cost planning and ensure design development complies with the approved budget.
• Contribute to achieving company safety targets and uphold a zero‑tolerance policy for unsafe or environmentally harmful practices.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of design processes, problem‑solving ability and commercial acumen.
• Excellent communication skills across all organisational levels.
• Demonstrated leadership in health and safety.
• Australian citizenship and ability to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance (NV1).
