Commercial & Contracts Manager

About the role

KBR is seeking a dynamic Commercial & Contracts Manager to join its Australia Defence and Security Solutions team. Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager, you will provide strategic commercial oversight and contractual management across multiple high‑value initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all commercial aspects of project contracts, ensuring compliance and alignment with internal business areas.
• Support contract delivery with timely, accurate commercial input and documentation throughout pre‑bid, bid, delivery and close‑out phases.
• Manage subcontractor engagement, due diligence and performance, and coordinate with operations, finance and project controls.
• Lead commercial risk management, including finance, insurance, estimating and compliance, and act as the first point of contact for ITAR and export‑control compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Finance or equivalent practical experience.
• Defence commercial management experience with knowledge of ASDEFCON and ITAR/export control compliance.
• Strong negotiation, communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Active Negative Vetting 1 Defence Security Clearance (Baseline or above).

Required skills

• Proficiency in spreadsheet modelling and MS Office.
• Experience with SAP or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Understanding of intellectual property, software rights and technical data management.
