Commercial Contract Specialist

About the role

The Contracting Centre of Excellence is looking for an experienced Commercial Contract Specialist to support the full lifecycle of client and third‑party contracts. This 12‑month contract role involves advising business teams, ensuring compliance, and leveraging technology such as AI‑enabled contract tools to improve contracting outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Advise Engagement Leads on contracting processes, procedures and systems for new contracts, variations and renewals.
• Apply commercial judgement when reviewing contract terms, identifying risks and escalation points.
• Provide contract support and compliance, monitoring service requests and queries.
• Support self‑service contracting models and internal workflow optimisation.
• Maintain accurate contract metadata, document management and repository standards within the CLMS.
• Oversee contract lifecycle workflows, approval routing, templates and clause libraries.
• Validate AI‑extracted legal clauses in the CLMS.
• Develop and maintain contract reporting dashboards covering value, utilisation, renewals, cycle times and obligations.
• Analyse contract and CLMS data, using emerging AI‑enabled analytics to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Support post‑signature contract set‑up, activation and ongoing obligation monitoring.

Required profile

• Proven experience in commercial contract management and review.
• Strong commercial judgement and ability to identify contractual risks.
• Comfortable working with cross‑functional teams such as Engagement Leads, Managers and Account Executives.
• Experience with technology‑enabled contracting, including AI‑driven contract analysis.
• Ability to contribute to continuous improvement of contracting processes and data quality.
