Commercial Analyst (Hybrid, 4 Days WFH)

About the role

A well-established, growing organisation in Sydney is recruiting a Commercial Analyst (also described as a Management Accountant) through West Recruitment. The role combines financial analysis, month-end reporting, commercial projects and governance responsibilities, with a broad mix of tasks and exposure to internal and external stakeholders. The position is permanent and full time, with four days working from home.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare month-end and quarter-end reporting, including financial analysis and commentary
• Analyse financial and operational data, investigate variances and identify key performance drivers
• Support commercial modelling, pricing calculations and analytical projects
• Maintain accurate commercial data, reporting frameworks and governance registers
• Investigate and resolve data discrepancies across reporting and invoicing
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to resolve queries and support commercial outcomes
• Identify improvements to reporting processes, internal controls and operational efficiency
• Support ongoing commercial projects and business expansion initiatives

Required profile

• CA/CPA qualification or working towards it is highly regarded but not essential
• Experience as a Management Accountant, Finance Analyst or Commercial Analyst
• Ability to interpret financial information, investigate discrepancies and communicate insights
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and accountability
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Proactive, independent and able to take ownership of responsibilities
• Currently based in Australia with full working rights; must be available to attend the office once a week

Required skills

• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, SUMIFs and VLOOKUPs
• Month-end reporting, financial analysis and variance analysis
