Cloud System Engineer

About the role

The Cloud Systems Engineer will manage, support and improve HammondCare’s cloud and server infrastructure, ensuring secure, reliable and efficient technology services across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, manage and optimise hybrid cloud infrastructure across Microsoft Azure and on‑premises environments.
• Administer Windows Server, Active Directory/Entra ID, virtualisation platforms and core infrastructure services.
• Manage Azure resources, identity services, storage, networking, backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Provide Level 3 technical support and troubleshoot complex infrastructure and cloud‑related issues.
• Lead infrastructure upgrades, migrations, cloud adoption and modernisation projects.
• Maintain security, patching, vulnerability management, compliance and operational standards.
• Monitor performance, availability, capacity and resilience of infrastructure.
• Manage enterprise file, print, SharePoint, backup and business continuity services.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–5 years’ experience in a Cloud Systems Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer or similar role.
• Commitment to HammondCare’s Christian mission and values.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and project delivery capabilities.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate effectively and provide on‑call support.

• Virtualisation (VMware, Hyper‑V).
• Microsoft 365 and SharePoint.
• Automation scripting with PowerShell and Python.
• Infrastructure security, patching and vulnerability management.
