Cloud Engineer - AI & Data

About the role

Medibank Group is expanding its cloud, data and AI capabilities and is looking for a Cloud Engineer focused on AI and data. You will design, automate and govern cloud environments across AWS and Azure, working with Cloud Engineering, Data, AI and Technology teams to build highly available, secure and cost-effective solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain cloud environments on AWS and Azure, and develop Infrastructure as Code solutions with Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible or similar.
• Automate cloud provisioning, deployment and operations, and evaluate emerging cloud capabilities.
• Build and operate cloud platforms for data, analytics and AI/ML workloads, including AWS AI services such as Bedrock, SageMaker, Amazon Q, Comprehend, Textract and Kendra.
• Support governance, classification and lifecycle management of AI solutions, and help adopt AI technologies responsibly.
• Apply cloud security best practices and the Principle of Least Privilege, and enforce cloud governance standards.
• Monitor infrastructure, manage change, release, incident and problem management, and maintain runbooks and documentation.
• Gather requirements, contribute to project planning and facilitate workshops with stakeholders.

Required profile

• 2-5 years' experience as a Cloud Engineer with strong AWS experience.
• Proven experience designing and deploying cloud environments with Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience supporting data, analytics and AI/ML workloads in AWS.
• Experience with serverless and container technologies, and with Python and Linux shell scripting.
• Experience in Agile delivery environments.

Required skills

• AWS services: S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift, EMR, SageMaker, Bedrock.
• Serverless and containers: Lambda, Docker, ECS, EKS, Fargate.
• CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitHub; Git.
• Nice to have: AWS Solutions Architect certification, MLOps or DevOps experience, ServiceNow and Jira.
