Clinical Pharmacist – Rotational (Grade 2)

About the role

Western Health is seeking an experienced Clinical Pharmacist (Grade 2) to join a rotating roster across multiple acute hospitals in Melbourne’s western suburbs. The position offers a full‑time, ongoing contract with a competitive Grade 2 salary package, superannuation and salary packaging options.

Key responsibilities

• Optimise patient outcomes by promoting Quality Use of Medicines (QUM) and ensuring appropriate dosing, timing and patient selection.
• Support prescribers and patients to maximise clinical benefits of prescribed medicines.
• Assist Pharmacy Team Leads with supervision, orientation and mentoring of rotational pharmacy staff.
• Contribute to quality assurance, evaluations and operational activities within the pharmacy department.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expert knowledge across a broad range of clinical and operational pharmacy areas.
• Ability to act as a reference point in a specialised area of practice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for delivering clinical quality assurance.
• Capability to support and supervise early‑career pharmacists, interns and students.
• Flexibility to work independently and collaboratively across multiple sites.
