Clinical Nurse – Primary Care Clinic

About the role

The Primary Care Centre and Pandanus Ward at Wynnum-Manly Community Health Centre are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse to deliver advanced nursing care to patients with urgent and complex health needs. This temporary, full‑time or part‑time role operates within a 24‑hour primary care environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advanced nursing care and clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary team.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop care plans, and coordinate patient services.
• Apply critical thinking and problem‑solving to manage urgent presentations.
• Support quality‑improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and patient safety projects.
• Mentor and educate staff, students, and peers to foster a learning culture.
• Contribute to service development and portfolio responsibilities.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with experience in urgent and complex patient care.
• Strong triage abilities and familiarity with the Australian Triage Scale.
• Capability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
• Commitment to evidence‑based practice and continuous improvement.
• Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant area (highly desirable).

Required skills

• Advanced Life Support (ALS) capability.
• Knowledge of the Australian Triage Scale.
