Clinical Nurse

About the role

The Clinical Nurse (CN) provides advanced clinical expertise and problem‑solving abilities within the Child Health Service. Working autonomously as part of the Healthcare Team, the CN leads the planning, coordination and delivery of high‑quality nursing care for children from birth to eight years.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive direct care to children, young people and families.
• Support and improve health system processes and pathways.
• Provide education and mentorship to nursing staff and other health professionals.
• Participate in research activities to advance paediatric health outcomes.
• Lead professional practice initiatives and contribute to portfolio management.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with Queensland Health registration.
• Demonstrated experience in paediatric or child health nursing.
• Ability to work autonomously and lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to the values and leadership framework of Children’s Health Queensland.
