About the role

Join Metro South Health’s Patient Flow Program as a Clinical Nurse – Additional Beds. You will use your advanced clinical expertise to coordinate patient referrals, transfers and bed resources, ensuring safe and timely access to care across the health service.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate patient referrals, transfers and additional bed resources across Metro South Health.
• Provide advanced clinical leadership and expert nursing support in complex situations.
• Support safe and efficient patient flow and service delivery outcomes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams throughout the health service.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with strong clinical judgement and a passion for patient flow improvement.
• Advanced clinical assessment, planning and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience in coordinating patient flow, transfers or bed management processes.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• High‑level critical thinking and decision‑making capability.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ieMR electronic medical record system.
• Experience using HBICS (Hospital Bed Information and Coordination System).
• Competence in Microsoft Office applications.
