Clinical Director, Kilcoy Hospital and Woodford Corrections Health Service

About the role

The Clinical Director leads medical services across Kilcoy Hospital and Woodford Corrections Health Service, working as part of the senior management team. The role covers strategic, operational and clinical leadership, supporting specialist Rural Generalists, General Practitioners and other specialists in emergency, urgent care, rural acute and custodial settings. It also involves influencing the development of healthcare services, including the future Youth Detention Service, and strengthening accredited medical training programs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic and clinical leadership for medical services, ensuring safe, high-quality, patient-centred care.
• Lead clinical governance frameworks, quality improvement initiatives, clinical outcome measures and patient safety programs.
• Drive workforce development through medical education, training and accreditation programs for junior doctors, medical students and other healthcare professionals.
• Manage operational and workforce matters, including recruitment, performance development, rostering, staff wellbeing and human resource management.
• Build relationships with multidisciplinary teams, primary care providers, health services and external stakeholders.
