Claims Consultant – Life Insurance

About the role

TAL, a life insurer backed by Daiichi Life, is hiring a Claims Consultant for its Retail Claims team in Sydney. The role is accountable for providing personal and empathic service to clients and for assessing life claims in line with TAL's claims philosophy, procedures, policy wording and authority limits.

Key responsibilities

• Independently manage a portfolio of claims end-to-end
• Engage key stakeholders to deliver timely outcomes for customers
• Assess, analyse, calculate and finalise claims payments accurately and on time
• Deliver exceptional customer service, including managing claims, communication and inquiries
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely, quality claim handling
• Take part in case conferences, peer case discussions and instruct third-party service providers

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in a similar position covering income protection, life, lump sum, trauma, critical illness, injury, TPD or death claims
• Retail, group or direct claims case management experience highly desired
• Ability to build rapport and show empathy with customers during difficult times
• Passionate, driven and willing to keep learning
