Claims Consultant – Group Life Claims

About the role

TAL, a life insurer backed by Daiichi Life, is hiring a Claims Consultant for its Group Space within the AWARE fund. You will manage life insurance claims from lodgement to determination, giving customers a seamless experience.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and manage Group Life claims across TPD, Death and Terminal Illness from lodgement to determination.
• Review medical, financial and legal evidence to make fair, accurate and timely claim decisions.
• Communicate with claimants, trustees, employers and other stakeholders with clear, empathetic support.
• Liaise with internal specialists and external providers such as rehabilitation consultants, medical practitioners, reinsurers and legal representatives.
• Ensure compliance with policy terms, legislation and the Life Insurance Code of Practice, keeping accurate claim documentation.
• Proactively manage claim progress, identify barriers and drive positive customer outcomes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of claims processes and customer experience, and keep up to date with life insurance products and industry developments.

Required profile

• Life insurance claims management experience within group policies; TPD claims experience is ideal, or workers compensation / return to work claims experience with an allied health background.
• Solid understanding of injuries, illnesses and treatment.
