Civil Engineer – Urban Development

About the role

Egis is seeking a Civil Engineer to join its Urban Development team in South East Queensland. You will be responsible for delivering comprehensive design and documentation for land development and civil infrastructure projects, working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver and manage civil and infrastructure designs for greenfield and brownfield redevelopment projects.
• Design major and minor drainage infrastructure, applying hydrological principles and appropriate water management.
• Deliver and manage water and sewer designs in line with SEQ Water standards.
• Prepare servicing and development reports.
• Collaborate closely with the Urban Development team, sub‑consultants, and external stakeholders.
• Build and maintain client relationships to generate new business opportunities.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 + years’ experience as a civil engineer in a consultancy environment, with knowledge of land development or infrastructure projects in Queensland.
• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering and a valid full driver’s licence.
• Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, delivering on time and within budget.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organisational and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement and business development.

Required skills

• Civil design principles for land development, storm water, civil infrastructure, roads and mining/resources.
• Drainage design with understanding of hydrological principles and water treatment.
• Water and sewer design according to SEQ Water standards.
