Building Supervisor – Insurance Construction

About the role

An established insurance building and construction business is looking for an experienced Building Supervisor to manage residential and commercial insurance repair projects across Brisbane and surrounding areas. You will oversee projects from handover through to practical completion, coordinating trades, customers and internal stakeholders while maintaining quality, cost, safety and service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage residential and commercial insurance repair projects from commencement to practical completion.
• Conduct site inspections, review approved scopes of work and ensure works align with budgets, building requirements and insurer expectations.
• Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, suppliers and trades across multiple active projects.
• Monitor programmes, progress and service‑level timeframes, taking action on delays.
• Identify scope discrepancies, variations and additional works, documenting and communicating them correctly.
• Review trade quotations, assist with construction estimating and cost control.
• Undertake quality inspections throughout the project and at completion.
• Maintain regular communication with homeowners, commercial clients, insurers, assessors, loss adjusters and internal teams.
• Resolve site issues, trade concerns and customer complaints promptly and professionally.
• Ensure subcontractors comply with WHS, site safety and company requirements.

Required profile

• Solid construction supervision experience on medium to large residential, commercial or insurance repair projects.
• Previous insurance building experience is highly regarded.
• Proven capability in construction estimating for building repairs.
• Strong experience working directly with clients, insurers, trades and suppliers.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
• Relevant trade or building qualification and current QBCC Supervisor Licence preferred.
• Current Australian driver licence.
