Child and Family Health Registered Nurse

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Child and Family Health Registered Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team at Doonside Community Health Centre. In this role you will provide evidence‑based nursing care to infants and young children and support families during the early years of life.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive health, development and psychosocial assessments for children and families.
• Deliver strength‑based education, guidance and care to parents and carers.
• Use evidence‑based screening tools to identify risks and plan appropriate interventions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and community services to ensure coordinated care.
• Contribute to quality‑improvement activities, documentation and best‑practice standards.

Required profile

• Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) – RN Division 1.
• Post‑graduate qualification relevant to child and family health nursing, or enrolment in a tertiary course with completion within 12 months.
• Post‑registration experience working with families and young children, including culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
• Commitment to evidence‑based practice and population health principles.
• Ability to assess physical, social and emotional needs of children and families.
• Effective verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with information technology systems and electronic health record (EHR) applications.
