Chief Accounting Officer – Global Technology Firm

About the role

The client, a fast‑growing technology company with a global footprint, is seeking a Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) to lead the design, implementation, and management of its international financial infrastructure. Reporting directly to the CFO, the CAO will be the ultimate authority on accounting standards and financial governance across all regions.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and oversee a global accounting framework ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timely reporting for all domestic and international units.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and AASB, managing multi‑entity consolidations, foreign‑exchange strategy, and transfer pricing.
• Build and continuously stress‑test internal control frameworks, corporate governance policies, and financial risk mitigation strategies.
• Advise the CFO and executive team on capital raises, corporate structuring, international expansion, M&A, and due‑diligence activities.
• Lead treasury accounting, working‑capital reporting, and balance‑sheet integrity.
• Manage relationships with external audit partners, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies worldwide.
• Drive finance‑stack modernization through global ERP deployments, cloud‑accounting integrations, and automated workflows.
• Develop and mentor a high‑performing international accounting team.

Required profile

• Fully qualified CA or CPA.
• 10+ years of senior accounting and financial management experience, including at least 5 years in a top‑tier financial leadership role.
• Proven experience in hyper‑growth technology environments such as Cloud Infrastructure, SaaS, Deep Tech, or hardware/datacenter businesses.
• Strong track record of scaling finance functions and leading large‑scale ERP transformations.

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and AASB.
• Extensive experience with multi‑entity consolidations and multi‑currency accounting.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and cloud‑based accounting platforms.
• Deep understanding of transfer pricing, foreign‑exchange strategy, and international tax considerations.
