Chef - Site Camp/Village (FIFO)

About the role

Due to business growth, Iconic Catering is looking for a qualified chef experienced in remote locations and familiar with the small village camp environment. The position reports to the Head Chef and supports overall catering operations while delivering excellent customer service. It is a full-time role on a 2:1 roster, flying out from Perth.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the highest possible quality of work across all catering services, within budget and scope.
• Prepare, cook and present meals, bake bread and pastries, and prepare crib meals including salads and meats.
• Keep food safety standards met at all times in preparation, cooking, cleaning and sanitising.
• Supervise utilities or other kitchen staff as needed.
• Support the Head Chef with stock management, ordering, stocktaking, budgets and cost control.
• Minimise waste and dispose of consumables and waste correctly and on time.

Required profile

• Essential Trade Certificate in Commercial Cookery.
• At least 3 years of industry or trade experience.
• Demonstrated experience in a FIFO village environment.
• Manual C-class driver's licence and national police clearance.
• Strong commitment to safety, reliability and customer service, with a positive attitude and ability to do manual handling.

Required skills

• Desired: Food Safety/HACCP knowledge and certification.
• Desired: First Aid course.
