Chef - Bar and Hotel Venue

About the role

Six Degrees Albany is a multi-service hospitality venue combining a bar, restaurant and accommodation in the heart of Albany, with live music and a bold menu. It is seeking a skilled and qualified Chef to join its kitchen team, in a high-energy environment where no two nights are the same. The position is open to an immediate start.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and execute menu items to the highest standard, following the venue's recipes, creative direction and quality benchmarks.
• Contribute to menu development, seasonal specials and culinary innovation.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and WorkSafe standards at all times.
• Support kitchen team members during service and liaise with front-of-house staff for timely service.
• Monitor food quality, portion control and presentation, and manage kitchen workstations safely and efficiently.
• Work under pressure during peak service, including live music nights.
• Assist with stock management, ordering and wastage minimisation as directed by the Head Chef.

Required profile

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent trade qualification (mandatory).
• At least 3 years' post-qualification experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen (mandatory).
• Ability to maintain high food quality standards under pressure.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and WorkSafe legislation.
• Leadership skills, time management and attention to detail.
• Availability to work a rotating roster including evenings and weekends.
