Casual Registered Nurse – General Practice

About the role

Doctors and Co. are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to join the Thornlands Doctors team on a casual basis. You will work alongside physicians in a busy general practice, delivering comprehensive patient care and supporting clinical operations.

Key responsibilities

• Take vital signs, record health histories and discuss symptoms with patients.
• Administer immunisations, injections and medications.
• Perform triage, wound management, chronic disease monitoring and ECGs.
• Assist with telehealth consultations and explain procedures to patients.
• Support doctors during clinical procedures and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Manage treatment room logistics, including stock control, sterilisation and equipment maintenance.
• Implement infection control practices and assist with reception and practice management duties.

Required profile

• Current AHPRA registration and Working with Children clearance.
• Valid police check, First Aid/CPR certification and immunisation record.
• Experience working in an accredited General Practice environment.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, patient‑centred attitude.
• Ability to multitask, solve problems and manage time effectively.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Best Practice software.
• Competence in performing ECGs.
• Experience with telehealth platforms.
