Casual Hospital Pharmacist (Aged Rehabilitation)

About the role
The War Memorial Hospital is seeking a casual pharmacist to deliver comprehensive pharmacy services across its aged rehabilitation campus. This role supports continuity of care during staff leave periods and contributes to medication safety initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Dispense and distribute inpatient and discharge medications in line with NSW Health policies.
- Counsel patients and carers on medication use, side‑effects and adherence.
- Manage procurement, storage and inventory of medicines according to legal requirements.
- Participate in accreditation activities, quality‑improvement projects and service evaluations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective medication management.
Required profile
- Current, unrestricted registration with AHPRA.
- Minimum three years of hospital pharmacy experience, preferably in rehabilitation or aged‑care settings.
- Ability to work autonomously with strong organisational and time‑management skills.
- Excellent communication skills for interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
- Commitment to mandatory influenza vaccination and recommended COVID‑19 vaccination.
Required skills
- AHPRA registration
- Proficiency with iPharmacy
- Experience using electronic medical records (eMR)
