Casual Domestic Assistant (ACT)

About the role

HenderCare is expanding its organisation to meet increased service delivery needs and help older Australians stay as independent as possible. It is looking for keen, reliable and friendly people to join its team as casual Domestic Assistants serving clients across North, Central and South Canberra. The team is described as engaging, collaborative and supportive, with experienced colleagues and management focused on your development.

Key responsibilities

• Vacuuming, mopping, dusting and cleaning bathrooms and toilets
• Bed-making, dishwashing, laundry, ironing and hanging clothes out
• Assistance with meal preparation and unaccompanied shopping
• Keeping service recipients' homes clean, hygienic and homely according to their needs and wishes

Required profile

• Own car to travel between several clients' homes each day
• Basic domestic cleaning experience
• Understanding of and willingness to support the elderly and people with a disability
• Current driver's licence and access to a vehicle
• Current National Police Check and WWVP card
