Carpentry Trainer Assessor (RTO) – Sydney

About the role

City-Wide Building and Training Services (CWBTS) is seeking a qualified Trainer Assessor to deliver on‑site carpentry training and assessment for apprentices across pre‑apprenticeship, school‑based, and workplace settings. The role is permanent, part‑time (31.5 hrs/week) with the potential to become full‑time based on enrolments.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver compliant, industry‑aligned training sessions at multiple locations across Greater Sydney and Wollongong.
• Assess apprentice competency, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records in LMS, ReadySkills, and VETtrak.
• Build and sustain strong relationships with apprentices, employers, and industry partners.
• Travel to training venues and worksites as required, with expenses covered by CWBTS.

Required profile

• Minimum Certificate III trade qualification in Carpentry or equivalent.
• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent).
• Demonstrated experience in apprenticeship‑based training.
• Valid Australian working rights and willingness to obtain Working with Children and Police checks.

• Salary AUD 80,000–85,000 per year (base) plus superannuation.
