Carpentry Trainer and Assessor

About the role

The Carpentry Trainer and Assessor is a full‑time, on‑site position at Harmony International College in Mount Gravatt, Queensland. The role involves planning, delivering and assessing carpentry training in line with Australian training packages and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans and learning resources for practical and theoretical carpentry classes.
• Deliver hands‑on training, demonstrate safe use of tools and techniques, and assess learner competency through practical and written assessments.
• Provide structured feedback, support learner progress and maintain accurate training and assessment records.
• Participate in validation activities, collaborate with colleagues and ensure compliance with industry safety procedures.

Required profile

• Strong practical carpentry experience, including framing and finish carpentry.
• Relevant vocational qualification in Carpentry (e.g., Certificate III) and current industry experience.
• Trainer and Assessor credential (e.g., TAE40122 Certificate IV) or willingness to obtain it.
• Knowledge of Australian VET standards, competency‑based assessment and RTO compliance.
• Ability to design engaging lessons for diverse learners, including international students.
