Business & Finance Manager

About the role

The Business & Finance Manager will lead the financial management of a vibrant clinical trial research programme, reporting directly to the CEO. This full‑time position supports the ALLG’s purpose of delivering better treatments and better lives for patients with blood cancers.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including reconciliations, journal entries and payroll management.
• Prepare and analyse financial statements, annual statutory accounts and manage the external audit.
• Develop the annual budget, rolling forecasts and review clinical trial budget variations.
• Coordinate reporting to the Finance and Audit Committee and act as company secretary.
• Manage banking, investment portfolio and grant reporting, including external audit of grant acquittal statements.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in accounting with CPA or CA accreditation.
• Experience in clinical trials, health, research or not‑for‑profit finance.
• Proven ability to work autonomously across multiple projects with tight timelines.
• Strong oral and written communication skills for liaising with health, science and research professionals.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Xero (or similar accounting software).
• Experience using Employment Hero (or similar payroll software).
• Advanced Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
• Financial reporting and analysis tools.
